Week 2 Challenge: Map Your Sit Spot
I took some inspiration from our recent loose parts learning and provocations, and decided to use some of my little one's wooden toys to "map" out first the layout of our yard (bordered with my parent's home) and then a detailed depiction of my sit spot. It was a lot of fun, and I hope...if not being the most incredibly accurate model re: scale and size...that it at least gives a rough idea of how everything is laid out.
So, first, the birds eye view:
Photo: our shared backyard with our house (Grimm's green house) and my parents house (Grimm's blue house), with certain special trees denoted by the large Raduga Grez trees, general forest indicated by the Grapat, and the Grimm's orange and red houses depicting particularly large outbuildings and sheds. (15 February 2021)
In the above depiction, the porches are indicated by the Grimm's semicircles. My particular porch with my sit spot is indicated by the purple Grimm's Friend on the back porch of the green house. Because, you know, realism. 😉
And now here is the microcosmic view of things:

My backyard, back porch sit spot is depicted in this second photo. Where I usually said is depicted by the green Grimm's Friend, and porch furniture is depicted with the Agirlgle rainbow shape blocks.
I usually start by sitting in one of the porch chairs observing the woods and the forested backyard, then begin a slow walk around the property in a counterclockwise circle headed back towards the big red pine tree by the woods. This has been my pattern for many years, and it's something I find myself doing whenever I'm taking a moment to take in the world.
So, yeah, here's my sit spot!
